Yucaipa Music & Nightlife: May 30-June 5

  • June 6: "A Spaghetti Feast" at Kopper Kettle Kafe, with an Italian dinner (duh) and comedy entertainment by the Yucaipa High School Theatre Department, who will be performing scens from "Shakespeare Abridged." $10 adults, $5 children 11 and under, 5pm-8pm. Reservations required for parties of six or more. Call 797-2932. The event is a fundraiser for the YHS Theatre Department and travel to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
  • June 7: Hometown Jamboree with Riley's Mountaineers at Los Rios Rancho
  • June 5-8: Cherry Festival in Beaumont. Check out this week's News Mirror for $5 off the price of wristbands. There will be lots of music all weekend! Presale tickets available through June 7 at the Beaumont Chamber of Commerce, Beaumont Civic Center, The Record Gazette and Arrowhead Credit Union.
  • June 14: Father's Day Barn Dance at Riley's Farm
  • July 4: The Spirit of America July 4th Freedom Fest Event @ Yucaipa High School, Adults $5, Seniors (55+) $4, children age 3-17 $3, children under 3 free. Parking $5. Tickets on sale now at the Yucaipa Chamber of Commerce, PFF Bank and Citibank.

  • May 22-June 8: Yucaipa Little Theatre presents Little Mermaid opening May 22, 7:30 pm, Fridays and Saturdays May 23-June 7 7:30 pm , Sundays May 25, June 1 and 8 at 3:30pm
  • June 7: International Order of Rainbow Girls of Yucaipa presents a magic show at the Masonic Center (13669 California St) with magicians Jeff Parker and Chris Paul. $5 per person, $15 per family. Tickets available presale (795-8353) or at the door.

Yucaipa Music & Nightlife: May 23-29

Wow, that's some seriously wild weather we had today. It looks like the thunderstorms here in Yucaipa were nothing compared to the tornadoes in Moreno Valley, mudslides that closed 60 near Beaumont and San Timoteo Canyon, and flash flooding in Live Oak Canyon. Yikes. Hopefully Memorial Day won't be a wash out.

This Week in Local Theater :
  • An Evening of Cars, Comedy, God and Fun @ Yucaipa Christian Church (12954 Bryant St.): car show, dinner and entertainment from "Christian, corporate" comedian Jeff Allen. Tickets are $15 for everything, or $10 just for the comedy show. Proceeds go to the Yucaipa Valley Pregnancy Counseling Center.

  • Yucaipa Community Park: The American Legion Post 426 and VFW Post 7347 will be hosting a Memorial Day ceremony titled "All Gave Some, Some Gave All". There will be guest speakers, Honor Guard, bugler, and songs by Tom Shalhoub. 10AM. After the ceremony there will be a public barbecue at the American Legion post (1167 California St), with music by Bob Henandez and the Starlight Wranglers.

  • June 7: Hometown Jamboree with Riley's Mountaineers at Los Rios Rancho

  • May 17-18 (moved from last week): Crafton Hills College Presents Club Noir, May 17 8pm; May 18 2pm, $5 students, $10 general
    "Crafton Hills Theatre in transformed into a Club set in the 40's, the style of the show is similar to recent graphic novels. Think Sin City meets Chicago live on the Crafton stage. They'll be Dancing to songs like Fever, Peter Gunn and Stem Heatand others, live jazz singers singings songs like "One for my baby" and "Blues in the Night" and gritty dialogue performed by the darkest of characters Club Noir will be choreographed by Stephanie Gomez and directed by Tom Bryant. The highlight of the evening is Nightmare's Kiss a dance theater piece by Frank Palmer and Tom Bryant."
