Yucaipa Music & Nightlife: May 16-22

Here's the roundup for the third week of May. If you know of any other events, feel free to leave a comment. You can find more information in the links at the the end of the post. Note: all entries subject to change. Call to confirm the bands and cover price.

  • May 16-18: Iris Festival with flowers, crafts and entertainment by United Blues, Outta the Blue and possibly th Yucaipa High School Madrigals. No tickets necessary, just mark your calendar.
  • June 7: Hometown Jamboree with Riley's Mountaineers at Los Rios Rancho
  • June 5-8: Cherry Festival in Beaumont. Check out this week's News Mirror for $5 off the price of wristbands. There will be lots of music all weekend! Presale tickets available through June 7 at the Beaumont Chamber of Commerce, Beaumont Civic Center, The Record Gazette and Arrowhead Credit Union.
  • June 14: Father's Day Barn Dance at Riley's Farm
This Week in Local Theater :
  • May 17-18 (moved from last week): Crafton Hills College Presents Club Noir, May 17 8pm; May 18 2pm, $5 students, $10 general
    "Crafton Hills Theatre in transformed into a Club set in the 40's, the style of the show is similar to recent graphic novels. Think Sin City meets Chicago live on the Crafton stage. They'll be Dancing to songs like Fever, Peter Gunn and Stem Heatand others, live jazz singers singings songs like "One for my baby" and "Blues in the Night" and gritty dialogue performed by the darkest of characters Club Noir will be choreographed by Stephanie Gomez and directed by Tom Bryant. The highlight of the evening is Nightmare's Kiss a dance theater piece by Frank Palmer and Tom Bryant."
  • May 22-June 8: Yucaipa Little Theatre presents Little Mermaid opening May 22, 7:30 pm, Fridays and Saturdays May 23-June 7 7:30 pm , Sundays May 25, June 1 and 8 at 3:30pm
  • May 23 & 26: Heartland Players presents Broadway Our Way, May 23 8pm, May 26, 2pm, $10

Friday, May 16
  • Los Rios Rancho: Los Rios Rancho: Gospel Night. The Riley family, guest singers and musicians lead the crowd in the old packing shed in gospel music. Bring your old hymnal to make requests if you like! Free (donation if desired)
  • Yucaipa Community Park: Iris Festival starts at 4pm. Music by the United Blues Band at 6:30 PM.
  • Hickory Ranch Steakhouse: karaoke
  • Angel's Roadhouse: karaoke
Saturday, May 17
  • Yucaipa Community Park: Iris Festival starts with a 7am pancake breakfast (wow, that's early), and festivities from 9am-8pm. Music by Outa the Blue at 5:30 PM.
  • Park View Middle School: Jazz Showcase featuring students from Yucaipa High Schol, the Ninth grade campus and Park View Middle School, 3pm-8pm, $5
  • Shorter's Bar & Grill: karaoke with KJ Karaoke Scott, 9pm-midnight
  • Angel's Roadhouse: Rockabilly/Psychobilly Bash with Gamblers Mark, The Aftershocks, Johnny Dahmer, The Rocketz, and Society of Grave Robbers, 21+ $10
Sunday, May 18
  • Yucaipa Community Park: Iris Festival from 9am-5pm, with the Yucaipa High School Madrigals providing music from 1pm-3pm.
  • Angel's Roadhouse: Diablos M.C. Berdoo Annual Spring Fling, 1am-6pm with live music by The Burnout Brothers, 21+ $10
