The Esperanza Fire

I posted about the Esperanza fire and the brown smoke drifting over Yucaipa on my other blog. I thought I'd add an update here.

This morning's LA Times had a great map showing the steep terrain the fire fighters are having to deal with in fighting the Esperanza fire.

The Riverside County Sheriff's department is asking the public for tips on the possible arsonists, and officials are "seeking a $100,000 reward for information" (I take it that they haven't yet come up with the money, but they are trying).

From the Press-Enterprise:
Injured firefighter Pablo Cerda and possibly others are going to need significant amounts of blood and plasma transfusions, and donations may be urgently needed.

To donate, call the Blood Bank of San Bernardino and Riverside counties, 800-879-4484 or www.bbsbrc.org.
