"As a major employer in the Inland Empire, ESRI hires hundreds of professionals from our local communities each year," says Karen Hurlbut, ESRI spokesperson. "Because our company is growing, we have an ongoing need for additional employees and rely on local professionals to help us be successful. We look forward to hosting the career fair and giving prospective candidates the opportunity to visit our beautiful campus and meet our staff."

"Before joining ESRI, I commuted to downtown Los Angeles, four hours a day for two and a half years," says Tosha Cornish, an executive assistant at ESRI who lives in Highland. "I heard about ESRI from several fellow commuters, and it was the best move I could have made. I now work 15 minutes from home and am able to have lunch with my children."

ESRI has been growing steadily since its founding in 1969. Construction of a new corporate headquarters and technology center is under way, a project that is expected to be completed by the end of the year. ESRI is also renovating a nearby building to be used as its Learning Center, where customers from around the world will attend training courses on GIS technology.

ESRI develops computer software used to store, manage, visualize, analyze, and publish geographic data. The technology is used in many ways including analyzing crime, health, and business data. Recently, GIS software has been used to study the migration of whales in the Pacific Ocean, analyze shoppers' buying habits in Norway, and map the perimeters and evaluate the potential paths of the Southern California wildfires. On a local level, the Redlands Police Department, University of Redlands, and A.K. Smiley Public Library all use ESRI technology.

ESRI employs 4,000 people worldwide, 1,700 of whom are based at its headquarters. The company's GIS software is used in more than 300,000 organizations worldwide including each of the 200 largest cities in the United States, most national governments, more than two-thirds of Fortune 500 companies, and more than 7,000 colleges and universities.

The career fair will be held in the ESRI Café, 380 New York Street in Redlands (enter from Redlands Boulevard). For more information, visit www.esri.com/careerfair. Those unable to attend can apply online at www.esri.com/careers.
