Boom! Boom!

Just about 1PM this afternoon there were two loud booms. Was it an earthquake? Well, the USGS did register a 2.6 Earthquake at 12:44 PM with an epicenter in Calimesa. But earthquakes don't usually boom.

So, what was it? Sonic booms from the space shuttle Atlantis as it approached Edwards Air Force Base for a landing.

What a cool reason to hear booming!

I don't get to live in Yucaipa, so at my house, booms are either our fat cat jumping off the dresser or occasional fireworks. A space shuttle is much more interesting reason to hear booms!

Definitely more interesting! I feel a little embarrassed that I looked outside to see if something was happening in the neighbor's yard, though.
